Issue with Pairing a Wiimote
« on: March 02, 2016, 11:38:12 PM »
Hi guys,

I love my Balanduino. Thanks for developing it. I have some problems in pairing my Wiimote to my Balanduino. The pairing works with my PS4 Controller perfectly.

I read the comments in Balanduino.ino in line 113-118
Code: [Select]
#ifdef ENABLE_WII
WII Wii(&Btd);
// The Wii library can communicate with Wiimotes and the Nunchuck and Motion Plus extension and finally the Wii U Pro Controller
//WII Wii(&Btd,PAIR); // You will have to pair with your Wiimote first by creating the instance like this and the press 1+2 on the Wiimote or press sync if you are using a Wii U Pro Controller
// Or you can simply send "CPW;" to the robot to start the pairing sequence
// This can also be done using the Android or via the serial port
#endif

So I opened the Serial Monitor. Typed CPW; in it and execute. After that I pressed and hold 1+2 on my Wiimote. The 4 LED's on the bottom of the Wiimote started to blink but after a few seconds they turned off without pairing to my Balanduino. I also tried to use the red knob on the back of the Wiimote. Still doesn't pair with my Balanduino.

Do you have any advice what I can try to get this to work?

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you have problems. The easiest way to debug it is to install the USB Host shield library: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0#arduino-library-manager and then enable serial debugging: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0#enable-debugging.

Then please compile and upload the following example: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0/blob/master/examples/Bluetooth/Wii/Wii.ino and post output in this thread.

I didn't get the Wiimote to work with the Balanduino. Instead I will use my PS4 controller to control the robot.
I already send the Wiimote back to Amazon.

I have another question. I build up the Balanduino with two plates instead of three. I already cut down the threaded rods for this experiment. Now the Balanduino is not staying upright and it's shaking all the time. When I start to move it with my PS4 controller it falls down after a few meters. I already tried to change die PID Values over the Balanduino Android App but it didn't work.

My question to you is: Is it possible to get the threaded rods from you guys in a small parcel to Germany? The Balanduino worked fine bevor I cut down the threaded rods.

You can puy the threaded rods at any hardware store. It will be much cheaper for you than get them shipped here from Denmark.

Please take both wheels off and tighten the motor screws holding the gearbox. I would recommend using some Loctite, so they don't come loose again.

Sorry for the inconvenience it might have caused you.

Yeah, thanks for the answer. I found the screws in the motors a few hours ago and tighten them up.

Can you tell me how long the original threaded rods are? I know this thing are M6.
I bought some from Bauhaus here in Germany.

I need a additional info.
Can you tell me which size the screws in the hubs are?

I thought they are M3x3mm but it seems like they're to small and don't fit probably.

Sorry guys but this is a very bad customer service.
I just asked a simple question which size the screws in the hubs had.

I bought M3x3mm screws they were to small.
I bought M4x3mm screws they were to big.

Please tell me which size of screws I do need for the hubs!!!
I wrote you also a E-Mail and got no response

Sorry for the lack of response.

Ok, so this screws are ANSI thread.
Is it possible to get four of them in a letter to Germany?

I think it is not possible to buy ANSI screws here. We use normal DIN screws.
And I can't attach the wheels to the motors without the screws.

Sorry we don't have them here in Denmark either, as our stock is in China.

Have you searched for them online?
