Other hardware which could be used.

Hello , i built this inverted pendulum prototype using 1000RPM motors. After its performance for small angle changes its working fie ,but when rate of change of angle is large its response is slow and not quick.  I am using PID controlling and increasing differential constant is also not helping me . Please tell me which motor i should use to get fast and effective response.
My motor driver is L298N.
