Balanduino board dead!!
« on: December 19, 2015, 08:55:15 AM »
hi all,
it has been a while since i posted an update, after relocating and settling in the new home i though it was time to revive the balancing robot, so i toke out the Banaduino kit, charged the 12v battery  plugged the usb to program the board all went fine, few minutes later and the board stopped working!!

i quickly touched the board and 2 components were very hot (see attached photo) then the board stopped working (no leds or nothing.)

any idea why this happend ? (it was the same battery i used before for months)
is it rescuable ?
please help.
Thanks.

Hi Newman,

Sorry to hear that you board stopped working. Have you shorted out the board somehow? As the those two components are the 5V and 3.3V regulators, so either they are blown or something is drawing a lot of current.

Do you have a multimeter? Can you measure if the 3.3V or 5V rail is shorted out to ground?
