Getting Started / Re: Wheels go in opposite directions at full speed

What hardware exactly are you using? Are you using our main board and then using your own motors, batteries etc?

You can just ignore the warning. It just because you have included the USB Host library yourself as well and it comes bundles in the hardware plugin.

You don't have to send me the board, don't worry ;)

Sorry to hear that you got problems with the kit. You should not have to modify anything in the stock firmware, as it should work out of the box. Please follow these instructions: http://balanduino.com/get-started. In order to upload the firmware.

Sorry we don't have them here in Denmark either, as our stock is in China.

Have you searched for them online?

The set screws are 6-32 x 1/8in according to our supplier: http://www.banebots.com/product/T40H-SM62.html.

Sorry for the lack of response.

You can puy the threaded rods at any hardware store. It will be much cheaper for you than get them shipped here from Denmark.

Please take both wheels off and tighten the motor screws holding the gearbox. I would recommend using some Loctite, so they don't come loose again.

Sorry for the inconvenience it might have caused you.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you have problems. The easiest way to debug it is to install the USB Host shield library: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0#arduino-library-manager and then enable serial debugging: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0#enable-debugging.

Then please compile and upload the following example: https://github.com/felis/USB_Host_Shield_2.0/blob/master/examples/Bluetooth/Wii/Wii.ino and post output in this thread.

@prabhat sorry for not getting back to you. We have had some issues with our server, so I did not receive any notifications.

No you can't use an Arduino Dumilenove, as it is also running at 5V. I would recommend getting an USBASP in order to re-burn the bootloader.

Careful! The Arduino Uno is running at 5V! Do not use it!

Do you got an Arduino running at 3.3V or do you have an ISP programmer? You can easily turn your Arduino into an ISP: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoISP, but it has to run at 3.3V or you might damage the other chips on the Balanduino PCB.

prabhat,

Please follow this guide: http://balanduino.com/get-started, so we can make sure that you have all the right files.

When you turn on the board does the LED blink briefly? This will indicate that the bootloader is running.

Hi prabhat,

It sounds strange that you had to modify anything, as it should work just out of the box. Did you install the hardware add-on via the boards manager as recommended: http://balanduino.com/get-started?

This gist I wrote some time ago shows how to modify the code in order to use it with a Sabertooth motor driver: https://gist.github.com/Lauszus/3f727b1fa3ca692a8bdb.

Hi Prajwal,

It would help if you could record a video and share it?

I would recommend the following motor: https://www.pololu.com/product/2823 and motor driver: https://www.pololu.com/product/708.
